Looking East: The Pacific Pivot

As his recent summit with Xi Jinping highlights, President Obama has famously committed the nation to focusing more attention on Pacific affairs, given the rising political, economic, and military influence of China and other actors in Asia. This panel will examine the “Pacific Pivot” and explore the whole range of security challenges in this region, including tensions on the Korean Peninsula and in the South China Sea.
