Reinventing Health Care: Lessons from the Field

December 3, 2013

“Reinventing Health Care: Lessons from the Field” marks the release of the summary report of the Aspen Institute Health Innovation Project. For the past two years, the experts of the Health Innovation Project — convened in 2011 by the Aspen Institute in partnership with WellPoint Inc. — endeavored, first, to outline a path to a more-perfect system of American health care. Those recommendations were released in the 2012 white paper, “Reinventing Health Care: The Barriers to Innovation.”

Armed with that report, the Project’s leaders then took to the road to shine a spotlight on notable providers, community-based organizations, and insurers across the country that are advancing innovation that improves patient care and enhances efficiency. “Lessons from the Field” is a survey of those innovators and the programs on the verge of changing the face of American health care.

On September 25, our innovators and experts will discuss these findings and the lessons they may hold nationally.
