The NEH @ 50

September 30, 2015  • Aspen Institute Arts Program

In September 2015, as the National Endowment for the Humanities began to celebrate its 50th anniversary, NEH Chairman William “Bro” Adams spoke with Washington Post critic Philip Kennicott about the past fifty years of the NEH’s fulfilling it’s mission to “serve and strengthen our republic by promoting excellence in the humanities and conveying the lessons of history to all Americans.” And he looked to the organization’s hopes of the future as he steers it into the next half century.

The Washington Ideas Roundtable Series is made possible with the generous support of Michelle Smith and the Robert H. Smith Family Foundation.
