Panel I:  Manufacturing as Engine of Growth—The Industry’s Perspective

The United States and Germany have demonstrated successful growth and recovery in this difficult economic cycle through manufacturing. Senior executives from leading German and American companies will discuss the conditions required to maintain a vibrant industrial base such as harmonized standards, sufficient raw material supply, affordable energy, reduction of non-tariff barriers, and skilled labor. Moreover, they will consider how policymakers can contribute by fostering a favorable business environment.
