Youth Voice and Agency Take Center Stage at the Young Adult Forum

July 13, 2018  • Youth Leadership Programs

Young people are leading movements to advance social innovation, equity, and democracy around the world. The Aspen Ideas Festival and Youth and Engagement Programs celebrated and built upon that momentum with young people from across the Roaring Fork Valley, around the United States, and all over the world at the third annual Young Adult Forum at the Aspen Ideas Festival. Participants engaged some of the world’s brightest minds through an interactive evening of presentations, panels, performances, guided networking, and small group dialogues in the style of the traditional Aspen seminar.

Pete Dominick, host of SiriusXM’s “Stand Up with Pete Dominick,” emceed the event, and attendees heard first-hand accounts of how Ideas Festival speakers Maria Hinojosa, Gaby PachecoJose Antonio Vargas, Ina Fried, Ash Bhat, and Tristan Harris turned their passions into purpose and concerns into action. Youth activists Jo Altmaier, Erica Massender, and Garcia delivered powerful spoken word performances for the evening’s entertainment.
