I Meant to Do My Work Today, Richard Le Gallienne

Meditation

It’s Wednesday, and the peaks and valleys of the work week are unpredictable. The best of intentions are not always supported by discipline. To be busy is not necessarily to be productive. Productivity doesn’t always entail meaning. I meant to do my work today. Meaning is intention. The arithmetic mean is a central value. On this Wednesday we reach the customary “hump” of the week, the center of the work week that no longer seems to know its boundaries.

What central value is calling you? Is this a day to be called by the leaves, the butterfly, and the apple tree? Are you willing to grasp its fingers of the shining rainbow and, like the wind, go sighing over the land? What is the work means the most to you today?
