Aspen Future of Work Initiative and WeWork team up to launch National Town Hall series and research collaboration on how work is changing

The Aspen Future of Work Initiative has been focused on better understanding how changes in our economy are impacting work and what policymakers can do to help workers and businesses succeed in this changing environment.

For this reason, we’re excited to announce a collaboration with WeWork on a national town hall series on the future of work and research on how these changes are impacting freelancers, entrepreneurs and workers. In the coming years, we will convene business leaders, policymakers, and innovators in cities across America to discuss the changing nature of work in the 21st century.

This collaboration with WeWork provides an exciting opportunity to gather leading thinkers and actors in the public and private sector from across the country to help identify concrete steps and policy approaches that can help workers and businesses adjust to the changes happening in our economy.

Over the last few decades, technological innovation and an increasingly globalized economy have made work more flexible, but less stable and secure. And automation trends pose a profound challenge, threatening disruptions to key areas of the workforce. At a time when the pace of change is accelerating, this research will provide valuable insights on how work is changing. Through this collaboration, we will gain insight into trends transforming the American workforce, helping to drive discussion and policy ideas that will address the challenges we have now, as well as the challenges ahead.
