Building Registered Apprenticeship Programs

November 11, 2018  • US Department of Labor & UpSkill America

This week is National Apprenticeship Week, and organizations around the country will be sharing the value of apprenticeships as upskilling tools, and tips for how to best implement them in your business.

Apprenticeships offer a program that helps build employees’ skills while they earn a paycheck. They can be used to train new hires for a job, or to transition great employees to a new position. Apprenticeships can be implemented in a variety of fields, including healthcare, IT, manufacturing, and insurance and are currently used to develop a pipeline of workers in over 1,000 occupations.

To help you start a new apprenticeship program, the Department of Labor created the toolkit “Building Registered Apprenticeship Programs” to provide a step-by-step guide to help you start and register your apprenticeship program.
