The Beginning of Speech, Adonis (Translated by Khaled Mattawa)

Meditation

Of the countless people we will meet in our lives, the only one who is with us every step of the way is ourselves. As you look back upon your years, take stock. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? What type of person did you imagine you’d become? What would your younger self think about you now?

At the end of our lives, our thoughts tend to turn towards the idea of legacy –but the time to take stock of our lives doesn’t need to wait until we near its close. What would you want to know from your younger self? What would you share about all you now know? As you look back, are you proud of the choices you’ve made?
