The Peace of Wild Things, Wendell Berry

Meditation

Rest. The word originates from an Old English measure of distance – a period of inactivity that comes after a league or a mile to restore strength, energy, and health. The natural world has always held significant restorative properties, acting as a return to the earth and our natural state with benefits to both our psychological and physiological selves. When despair for the world grows in you, where do you turn? How do you find the peace of wild things? What does it mean for you to rest in the grace of the world, and be free?
