Meditation
The doctrine of Karma states that each person’s fate is determined according to their deeds. On our best days, we walk gracefully and act mindfully in the best interests of those around us, and on these days, the sun within shines for us. But mindfulness, generosity, and empathy are practices that must be cultivated each day to shine. There will also undoubtedly be days where we are less than perfect, where we may act out of hatred or prejudice and feel ashamed. “Seeing this,/The sun hid behind the clouds,/And rain came,/Unexpectedly, like tears.” On days where you wrestle with shame for your actions, how you respond? How do you resolve to act in a way that makes your sun shine?
