On February 21st, 2020, Aspen FSP convened approximately 25 leaders in the sectors of law, technology, consumer advocacy, and policy to design and coordinate strategies that leverage technological developments around debt collection processes to rebalance the power dynamic between debtors and creditors in court. With software and design solutions already underway, we want to explore the potential for the development of tools that could enhance debtors’ rights as individuals and strengthen the integrity and fairness of the courts system.

As a result of the meeting, Aspen FSP will develop a roadmap for action to lift up current innovations occurring in this space with the hope of building financial security. Given the scope of this issue and its impact on the financial health of American households, there is a need to bring together diverse perspectives to build solutions. On February 21st, 2020, Aspen FSP convened approximately 25 leaders in the sectors of law, technology, consumer advocacy, and policy to design and coordinate strategies that leverage technological developments around debt collection processes to rebalance the power dynamic between debtors and creditors in court.
