The New Face of America – The Latina Linchpin

Latinas make up one in five women in the US, and despite barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential, are making the US a stronger and more prosperous nation. Today, Latinas are attending college at higher rates than ever, are contributing to a surge in the number of Latino-owned business in this country (Latina-owned firms grew by 137% between 2007 and 2016) and are increasingly becoming politically active. Simply put, Latinas are becoming a powerful force in the United States and have the potential to make greater impact with more equitable access to social and economic mobility.

But, who are the faces that represent this powerful demographic group and what are their stories? Join us for two panels, one that explores race, ethnicity and the experiences of Latinas of different ethnic and religious identities as they navigate work, life and career. The second panel will look at the impact Latina entrepreneurs are having on the US economy, and the importance of investing in their growing businesses.
