Washington, DC – The Aspen Security Forum will host a live conversation between Ashraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, and NBC News Correspondent Carol Lee. The online interview will take place on Friday, January 29, from approximately 10:00-10:40am EST, and is part of the ongoing Global Leaders Series, which convenes sitting heads of state, government, and cabinet-level ministers from around the world for high-level, one-on-one conversations about their most pressing foreign policy and national security challenges.

 

In what is expected to be substantive and wide-ranging conversation, the Afghan President will discuss his national security and foreign policy priorities, and the future of relations with the United States as his government begins to work with the Biden administration. The interview will also address broader questions about challenges in the region and the future of Afghanistan on the world stage.
