On February 6, CNN reported that Adam Perlmutter secured the release of a man who had served more than 21 years in prison for a triple homicide that he and his friend did not commit, based on DNA evidence. Mr. Perlmutter, an attorney who has been in private practice in New York City for more than 20 years, is a 2013 Justice & Society Seminar alumnus and a member of the Aspen Institute’s Justice Circle.
On February 17, Malika Saada Saar published a Washington Post op-ed on child sex trafficking. Ms. Saada Saar, director of the Human Rights Project for Girls and special counsel on human rights at the Raben Group, attended the 2013 Justice & Society Seminar as one of the two inaugural Bruce and Diane Halle Scholars.
