Mexico is unique for its focus on using AI to achieve social goals, such as financial inclusion, fighting corruption, improving public health, and reducing crime. In October 2018, experts from the public, civic, academic and social sectors discussed the impact of AI across society and the importance of delivering this new technology in a responsible way, with an emphasis on the social impacts of AI in Mexico.
The group recommended key actions for Mexico to leverage AI for the needs of individuals in these important areas. The workshop was the first convening with the Aspen Institute International Partners NextGen Network hosted by Aspen Mexico.
