Since the “great recession” started in 2008, US microenterprise programs have been challenged to step up their game- expanding services to business owners newly closed out of mainstream capital markets, assisting traditionally disadvantaged microentrepreneurs survive downswings in demand, and helping the unemployed explore self-employment. Results of the most recent microenterprise industry survey explore how microenterprise programs have grown, added products and services, and remained focused on their target markets.
