The Field, Rumi
Meditation
Where is that place beyond blame where one can rest? I’ll meet you there. Rumi’s field beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing is a place of rendezvous, not solitary retreat. The field does not shield us from the light but provides a respite for encounter, with oneself and another. I’ll meet you there. With whom do you long to lie down in the grass, beyond the hurts and disappointments, the betrayals and wounds for which forgiveness has not been asked? The world is too full to talk about. Send an invitation. Let your souls lie down in the grass together.
