Youth Summit Announced for Milwaukee

April 28, 2011

The Center for Native American Youth will host a youth summit from 1:30 to 5:00 pm on Monday, June 13th in Milwaukee at the National Conference of American Indians’ Mid-Year Conference. The event is part of our goal to travel around the country to hear directly from young people about the challenges they are facing, and programs and approaches that are improving the situation.Senator Dorgan with kids

Native youth, tribal leaders and tribal youth program staff from around the country are invited to attend, tell their stories and engage with each other on what is is and is not working in their communities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from former US Senator Byron Dorgan, the Center’s chairman and founder; Dave Anderson, founder of Famous Dave’s restaurants and the former Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs at the US Department of the Interior; and Sam McCracken, General Manager of Nike’s Native American business, and Chairman of Nike N7.  These are some great speakers who are not to be missed!
