Aspen is a place for leaders to lift their sights above the possessions which possess them. To confront their own nature as human beings, to regain control over their own humanity by becoming more self-aware, more self-correcting, and hence more self-fulfilling.
The National Commission intends to spark the most important conversation about PreK-12 education that we have had in a generation—examining the very essence of what constitutes success in our schools.
Drawing from research and promising practices, the Commission will explore how to make social, emotional, and academic development part of the fabric of every school. Along the way, the Commission will identify challenges and opportunities and learn crucial lessons from those engaged in this work. Ultimately, the Commission will develop a roadmap that will point the way toward a future where every child receives the comprehensive support needed to succeed in school, in our evolving 21st century workplace, and in life.
