Delivering on the Promise of Universal Access to Reproductive Health: Countries Leading the Way
The inaugural event in the Geneva Policy Dialogue Series for Reproductive Health, “Delivering on the Promise of Universal Access to Reproductive Health: Countries Leading the Way,” took place on 18 May 2011 at the U.S. Mission in Geneva, Switzerland.
Co-sponsored by Aspen Global Health and Development and the World Health Organization Department of Reproductive Health and Research, the event was hosted by Ambassador Betty E. King, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva. More than 80 participants representing over 15 countries came to engage in discussions regarding innovations in policy, financing, and service delivery that leaders have used to move the needle on achieving access to reproductive health.
On behalf of the Global Leaders Council for Reproductive Health, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin announced the newly created Resolve Award at this inaugural event. The Resolve Award celebrates innovative approaches by governments as they accelerate progress toward universal access to reproductive health through innovative financing, expansion of services and policy development.
