“Urban tech” and “smart cities” technologies are changing the way residents engage city services and move through public space. The people and companies creating these technologies should be as diverse as city residents themselves. At this event, leaders from the private, philanthropic, public, and non-profit sectors will answer the question: What can city governments do to increase the number of “smart cities” or “civic tech” or “urban tech” procurements awarded to companies led by women and people of color?The Aspen Institute Center for Urban Innovation is hosting this event with generous support from the Surdna Foundation.This event has been postponed until further notice.
