Internships
The Aspen Institute offers an array of internship opportunities that are designed to provide a valuable educational experience, help you grow your skillset, and connect you with professionals in your area of interest.

From day one, our interns are provided with real-world, hands-on experience. Not only will they work alongside professionals with expertise in a variety of policy and administrative areas, but they will also have the chance to participate in various professional development workshops designed specifically for them, as well as attend events hosted by our Institute programs.
Internships are offered at our offices in Aspen, CO, New York, NY, and Washington, D.C. Applicants should have the ability to work well on diverse teams, be open to new experiences, and have a drive to excel throughout the internship experience.

Maya Kobe-Rundio, Digital Editor and Producer, Aspen Ideas Festival
“My internship with the Aspen Ideas Festival was a formative career experience and one of the best summers I’ve had, hands-down. It showed me what a truly rewarding job looks like, one with a balance of teamwork and autonomy, high-output creative work grounded by the details of editing and event support, and the digital world connecting dynamic in-person events. Years later, the stars aligned to continue my career at the Aspen Institute, and now I have the privilege of hiring for the internship where it all began for me.”

Adilio Alfaro, Program Associate
“In the same way the Aspen Institute invests and supports leaders and communities across the country and globe, the colleagues and leaders at Aspen have intentionally extended their hand of mentorship for my personal and professional growth. I’ve been able to meet, learn, and work alongside some of the brightest and kindest minds. My internship transitioned into my first job, and I have been fortunate to work with a national program for the past 4.5 years, and currently continue my graduate studies at Georgetown University while also working with the Office of the President”.

What began as an internship over 10 years ago, quickly evolved into a life-changing experience and an amazing career. The Aspen Institute not only provided a platform for learning but also encouraged me to wear various hats, allowing me to explore and develop a diverse set of skills.
