The Manufacturing Institute claims that there are over half a million jobs in the manufacturing sector that go unfilled because employers cannot find workers with the skills needed to do these jobs successfully. Given the persistently high unemployment rate of the past few years, it is clear that there is a mismatch of job training and job opportunities. Community colleges can help companies bridge this gap. This 75 minute discussion will address the opportunities and challenges inherent in the establishment of partnerships between community colleges and companies to help build a workforce with the skills that employers need.
