Incubating Innovation – Structuring a Sustainable Ecosystem for Tech Startups
On the occasion of the third Global Entrepreneurship Summit, held in Dubai Dec. 11-12, 2012, the Emirates-Aspen Partnership partnered with the GES team to support sessions on women’s entrepreneurship and the role of incubators in tech entrepreneurship.Incubators and accelerators are increasingly used to catalyze the growth of “tech-preneurship” across emerging economies. Looking at the best practices and lessons learned, panelists discussed the ideal conditions for incubators and accelerators as well as the ecosystem and tools necessary for tech companies to thrive and innovate – including early-stage investment, mentorship, a supportive policy framework, and scalable strategies for sustainable growth.
