Members of the Society of Fellows are invited to attend a fascinating three-day symposium devoted to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and gain a better understanding of Russia’s interests and policy towards the region. The event will begin with an evening reception on August 4, followed by three morning sessions on August 5, 6 and 7.

Moderated by Ambassador William Miller and Denis Poltavets. Ambassador Miller is a Senior Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center and former United States Ambassador to Ukraine (1993-1998). He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute of Strategic Studies, and the Middle East Institute. Previously he was a senior consultant to the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and president of the Committee on American-Russian Relations. He has written extensively on foreign policy and defense issues.

Denis Poltavets is a medical doctor, psychiatrist and civil society development expert. A native and resident of Ukraine, Poltavets moderates the Aspen Seminar in Ukraine for current and upcoming leaders.
