Featuring experts Dr. William Cook, Ross King, and Contessa Simonetta Brandolini d’Adda. This symposium will examine how St. Francis and Giotto were paramount to the intellectually significant movement, the Renaissance, forever changing the landscape of Italy, Europe as a whole, and even today’s world. Paintings and architecture of great importance will be studied including the Stigmata, the Cross of San Damiano, the Dream of the Innocent II, and the upper and lower churches in Assisi.
