Today, UCHealth announced the launch of a new education and upskilling program offered in partnership with Guild Education. The UCHealth Ascend Career Program will fully fund a selection of clinical certifications, foundational learning programs such as English language and college prep, and select degree programs in social work, behavioral health, and other areas. And it will provide education coaches to help employees choose the programs and courses best for them, which they will have access to starting on day one of employment. By reducing the financial barriers to education, the Ascend Program will create career development opportunities for those interested in entering the health care field. A high school diploma or GED will no longer be required for applicants of certain roles because UCHealth will be able to fund this education once employees are hired. UCHealth plans to invest up to $50 million in the program over the next several years. Read more.

Even as the pandemic continues to impact our economy and society, we are pleased to see companies like UCHealth remain committed to advancing the upskilling movement. We hope other organizations find innovative ways to promote upskilling during this challenging time.
