Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with the Center for Native American Youth by joining us for the release of our second annual State of Native Youth report. The event, held at The Aspen Institute on November 15, will feature a panel discussion centered on this year’s report theme: Native American Youth: Our Identities as Civic Power. Watch the discussion live on the CNAY Facebook page at 12 pm EST.The event will feature opening remarks by Sari Horwitz, Pulitzer Prize winning Staff Writer, The Washington Post. Then, discussing Native youth priorities and youth-led responses to community issues are featured speakers:Chrissie Castro, Vice Chairwoman, Los Angeles City-County Native American Indian Commission;Kayleigh Warren, Co-Chairwoman, Santa Clara Pueblo Youth Tribal Council;Anthony Tamez, Co-President, Chi-Nations Youth Council; andSamuel Schimmel, 2017 CNAY Champion for Change.The panel discussion will provide context for the community challenges, cultural strengths and civic action highlighted in this year’s report.
