Aspen Institute Statement on the Passing of Jackie Bezos

The Aspen Institute mourns the passing of Jackie Bezos, a beloved friend to the Institute and a champion for our work on behalf of young people and their families. Jackie was the co-founder and president of the Bezos Family Foundation and the wife of longstanding Aspen Institute trustee Mike Bezos.

Jackie, Mike, and the Foundation have been extraordinary partners and generous contributors to the Aspen Institute, supporting youth and young adult leadership through the Center for Rising Generations, investing in numerous programs and fellowships, participating frequently in our public convenings, and helping advance the work of our international partners. Their impact is also felt on our Aspen Meadows campus, where Jackie and Mike’s belief in the promise of rising generations will always echo.

The Aspen Institute extends its sincerest condolences and enduring affection to Mike, his family, and the Bezos Family Foundation. Jackie Bezos touched many lives across our organization with her warmth, her vision, and her commitment to building a better world. We will forever carry her spirit forward in the work we do.
