The city of Nashville sought to solve a civic problem by reinventing its brand and showcasing its greatest asset –its songwriters—telling their story. A discussion with the producers and creators of an award-winning documentary was capped with a moving performance of a song inspired by a father grieving his son killed in Afghanistan by one of the film’s Grammy-nominated stars, Jessi Alexander.
