The fifth inaugural poet in US history, Richard Blanco, will share his poetic memoir, “For All of Us, One Today,” a story about his participation in the presidential inauguration and his emotional journey to define what it means to be an American. Blanco will discuss his role as a public voice, the themes of cultural identity that inspire his work, and his vision for poetry to have a place in our nation’s consciousness.

Winter Words is a series of readings and talks featuring prominent contemporary writers. Acclaimed authors of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and memoir read from their work and discuss topics that range from the creative process to the role of art in today’s world.
