Brian A. Wong presently serves as Managing Director for the Aspen China Fellowship Program. A Fellow in Class Four, Brian is an entrepreneur, investor and author. He was the first American and the fifty-second employee to join Alibaba Group, where he contributed to the company’s early globalization efforts and served as Jack Ma’s special assistant for international affairs. He is author of the award-winning management book ‘The Tao of Alibaba’ (www.tao-of-alibaba.com) published under Hachette imprint Public Affairs. Brian continues to teach entrepreneurial programs and to invest in technology ventures through his angel fund, Seacliff Partners Limited. Brian also founded RADII Media (www.radii.co), a leading digital media platform promoting East-West understanding.

A graduate of Swarthmore College, the Johns Hopkins (SAIS)–Nanjing University Center, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Brian has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He is a China Fellow at the Aspen Institute, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and part of the Thinkers50 Radar class. Brian serves on the Swarthmore College Board of Managers, is a board member of the Committee of 100, and previously served on the Wharton Alumni Executive Board.

Based in Hong Kong, Brian’s areas of expertise include the digital economy, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development. He is also an aspiring outrigger paddler and has a passion for heritage preservation.
