About the Fellowship
The Woody & Gayle Hunt – Aspen Institute Fellowship empowers exceptional leaders and changemakers from the Borderplex Region (El Paso, TX; Las Cruces, NM; Ciudad Juarez, MX) by providing financial support to participate in Aspen Institute programs.
The Fellowship is designed to support the development of a new generation of leaders who are committed to advancing the common good in the Borderplex Region. Fellows gain access to world-class leadership development opportunities, including public events, policy roundtables, leadership seminars. These experiences help them strengthen their networks and develop the skills necessary to make an even greater impact in their communities.

Who We Are
Hunt-Aspen Fellows are encouraged to apply knowledge learned to the Borderplex region after participation. Fellows become members of the Aspen Conexión Alumni Network, a community of change makers and leaders and are provided with opportunities to further engage with the Aspen Institute.

The Program
Eligibility
Becoming a Fellow
To be eligible for the Woody and Gayle Hunt- Aspen Institute Fellowship the candidate must:
- Be admitted to an Aspen Institute program and able to contribute to the conversation based on professional and personal experience
- Be over the age of 18 (Specific programs may have additional age restrictions)
- Submit financial need statement
- Be a current resident of the Borderplex Region (El Paso, TX; Ciudad Juarez, MX; Las Cruces, NM)
- Committed to advancing the Paso del Norte region
Fellows are selected through a rigorous, multi-step process that includes nomination review, interviews in-person (locations to be announced), and final approval by the Aspen Institute and the Hunt Family Foundation.

EXPERIENCE
Structure
The Fellowship aims to contribute to the leadership skills of individuals through exposure to world-class programming and connections to new networks. The Aspen Institute also benefits from incorporating key perspectives from the region into Institute conversations and tables.
After participation, awardees are encouraged to apply knowledge learned to the Borderplex region. Fellows become members of the Aspen Conexión Alumni Network, a community of changemakers and leaders and are provided with opportunities to further engage with the Aspen Institute.
COSTs
Financial Commitment
Fellows are awarded scholarships that cover the cost of participation in Aspen Institute public events, policy roundtables, leadership seminars, and other convenings.
