In December 2020, cybersecurity experts began to unravel SolarStorm, an unprecedented security breach affecting potentially thousands of organizations. As the White House and Congress debate the appropriate response, the Aspen Cybersecurity Group has collected sixteen leading experts to offer concise assessments on a productive path forward for policymakers.

The Aspen Institute is building an initiative to equip young people with the tools, protections, and skills they need to safely and effectively leverage the internet to become informed citizens and bring about societal change. To support the planning for this project, the Aspen Digital program seeks to hire a senior consultant with deep subject-matter expertise in the policies, landscape, and needs associated with U.S. data privacy and the safety and security of minors online. The role assumes significant experience in the intersection of technology, public policy, and ethics.

The Aspen Tech Policy Hub is accepting applications through February 22 for two training programs to occur in Summer and/or Fall 2021. Modeled off of tech incubators like Y Combinator, the Hub takes tech experts, teaches them the policy process through intensive training programs, and encourages them to develop outside-the-box solutions to society’s programs.
