Lloyd Blankfein Explains Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses Program

At the 2013 Aspen Ideas Festival, the Institute’s President and CEO Walter Isaacson welcomed Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Huffington Post President and Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington, and former US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings to a discussion on the potential of small business owners to strengthen a city’s economy.

New Orleans is one of 14 cities benefiting from Goldman Sachs’ $500 million investment in its 10,000 Small Business program. Hear the private, public, and media perspective on how offering education, access to capital, and support services to already existing small businesses creates jobs, builds economic development for an entire region, and perhaps, most surprisingly, helps create retention within a corporation—all while offering a model of public-private partnership and corporate civic responsibility.
