The 2019 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence will be awarded on Tuesday, April 2, from 12pm-2pm at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum in Washington, DC. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of the finalist institutions, the Prize ceremony will feature remarks from key higher education, business, and philanthropic leaders about the importance of community colleges for advancing social mobility and talent development in all corners of the nation.
The $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence focuses on rewarding and shining a spotlight on community colleges with both strong and improving student outcomes. With a singular focus on student success, the Aspen Prize assesses institutional performance in four areas: student learning, certificate and degree completion, high rates of employment and earnings for graduates, and equity in access and success for students of color and low-income students.
