America’s Future Summit: Unlocking Potential, Advancing Prosperity

The Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program visited Chicago for the America’’s Future Summit: Unlocking Potential, Advancing Prosperity. Conversations focused on the relationship between Latino economic advancement and America’s prosperity. Latinos, already 18% of the US population, offer many potential gains to the US economy but still face many challenges. Latino GDP is $2.13 trillion dollars, if it were a country it would be the seventh largest in the world, yet household income remains low and the wealth gap high. The Summit demonstrated the importance of a collective response to ensuring Latinos and all Americans can have the opportunity to reach their full potential and uplifted inspirational leaders and promising pathways to success in Chicago and across the country.
