On December 17, 2012, the Justice and Society Program held the first convening of the Inclusive America Project’s Distinguished Panel at the Aspen Institute Washington, DC headquarters. The morning included lectures by Harvard professors Robert Putnam, co-author of American Grace: How Religion Divides and Unites Us (2010), and Diana Eck, Director of the Pluralism Project. During the afternoon, panelists considered best practice models and began to develop consensus points for commitments and action steps in each of the five sectors. At day’s end, the group was hosted by the Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships at the White House for a briefing on the Obama Administration’s work on religious pluralism.By invitation only.
