The greatest challenges leaders face are moral, not technical.

The Aspen Executive Seminar on Leadership, Values, and the Good Society cultivates the perspective, judgment, and character leaders need to meet those challenges.

Alongside a diverse group of accomplished peers, participants explore the values, tensions, and tradeoffs that define leadership. Together they wrestle with enduring ideas that strengthen their ability to build trust, exercise influence, navigate conflict, shape culture, develop people, and lead with greater clarity and purpose.

About

How do you lead when there are no easy answers?

The Aspen Executive Seminar helps leaders explore the values, assumptions, and systems that shape their decisions. Through moderated dialogue and engagement with a diverse cohort of peers, participants gain the perspective and judgment needed to navigate complexity and lead with greater intention.

  • An educational tradition built on the belief that leaders are formed through ideas and dialogue, not ideology and dogma
  • A wide array of leadership perspectives that extend far beyond the boundaries of any one industry, profession, or worldview
  • A curriculum that draws on more than 2,000 years of philosophy, literature, history, and political thought as practical resources for leadership
  • A residential, cohort experience where place becomes part of the learning, creating space for reflection, renewal, and sustained conversation
  • A network of leaders committed to thoughtful dialogue that continues long after the seminar ends
  • More skilled at building alignment among competing interests and perspectives
  • Confident in leading through uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
  • Prepared to bring greater thoughtfulness to the decisions, conversations, and relationships that define leadership every day
  • Better equipped to build trust across teams, functions, and organizations
  • Able to navigate competing priorities without losing sight of purpose
