Alberto Chaia is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, based in their Miami office, where he has made significant contributions in healthcare, economic development, and financial inclusion. His work has positively impacted millions of lives across the Americas, Africa, and Asia. One of his most notable achievements was leading the transformation of Mexico’s second-largest healthcare and social security system, which serves 32 million people, to enhance health outcomes, customer experience, and financial sustainability. Additionally, he played a key role in reorganizing a major university’s administrative office, streamlining operations, and improving efficiency. He is also the author of McKinsey’s ongoing research on Latino Economic Mobility and is a leader in the organization’s Hispanic Latino Network.
Beyond McKinsey, Alberto has advised government institutions in Latin America, focusing on areas such as low-income housing and Special Economic Zones to improve public services and efficiency. He is deeply committed to giving back and serves on the boards of three foundations dedicated to enhancing education and nutrition for those in need.
Before joining McKinsey, Alberto was the Chief of the Department of Economic Studies at the Ministry of Finance and a visiting researcher at the Bank of Mexico. He holds an MPhil, a PhD, and an MA from Columbia University, as well as a BA from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. He splits his time between Miami and Steamboat Springs, CO, and is an avid sports fan, a passion he shares with his three college-bound children
