Andrew Travers

Senior Manager & Penner Manager of Educational Programs, Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies

Andrew Travers is the Senior Manager and inaugural Penner Manager of Educational Programs at the Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies. Based in Aspen, he is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating the Center’s educational programming and public engagement initiatives.
A former newspaper and magazine editor, Andrew has written extensively about the arts and culture, among an array of other topics. His recent work has been published by The Atlantic, The Hollywood Reporter, and the Colorado Sun. He began telling the story of Herbert Bayer and Aspen’s art history for the Aspen Daily News and Aspen Times and now does so for the Institute’s center devoted to the artist’s life and work.
Andrew is also the editor of the book Aspen Institute: The First 75 Years (2026). His writing and criticism have earned honors from the National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards, Associated Press, American Society of Journalists and Authors, Colorado Press Association, and Colorado Association of Libraries. He is a graduate of Tulane University, a National Association for Interpretation certified guide, and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
