Brian Campbell is the Administrator for the DC Department of Human Services (DHS) Economic Security Administration (ESA). In this role, Brian is responsible for ensuring delivery of SNAP, TANF, Medical Assistance, Child Care, and other public assistance to nearly 300,000 District residents along with supportive case management services, including Employment and Training (E&T) for families and individuals.
Brian has been with DHS since 2007, serving in a variety of capacities – most recently as Chief of Staff where he had a broad and diverse portfolio that included managing federal relationships, serving as the primary liaison with external advocates, managing the Fair Hearing Team, and supporting both program operations and service delivery design.
Brian holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Political Science from Knox College. He also served in the Peace Corps in Sanyuyo, Guatemala.
Brian lives in DC with his wife and four kids (two are in college, one is in the Peace Corps in Morocco and one attends a DC public high school). He bikes to work and always looks for an excuse to hold a meeting outside.
