Cameron Bailey is the Chief Executive Officer of Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the largest public film events in the world. He directs TIFF’s vision, strategy and overall management, including at Toronto’s TIFF Lightbox, one of North America’s largest arthouse multiplexes.

Born in London, Bailey grew up in England and Barbados before migrating to Canada, where he studied English Literature and Cinema. He began his career as a film critic before joining TIFF. Bailey has also taught film curation at the University of Toronto, and holds an honorary Doctor of Laws from his alma mater, Western University, where he now sits on the Board of Governors.

A voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Bailey was named a Chevalier in France’s Order of Arts and Letters. He has committed his professional life to finding, presenting and supporting cinema that expands the art form and transforms audiences towards greater empathy and connection. He is a Fellow in the inaugural class of the Michael D. Eisner Arts & Culture Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
