David Jen is managing director of finance at X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory, stewarding a global portfolio of breakthrough technology ventures through disciplined capital allocation and strategic partnerships. Previously, David was chief financial officer of Everyday Robots, Alphabet’s AI-powered robotics initiative, where he secured multi-year funding and scaled the team before its transition to Google Research. Earlier at Google, he led finance for key Chrome and search distribution partnerships. Active in corporate governance, David serves as a board observer for independent Alphabet spin-outs Tidal and Taara, was a former board member for industrial robotics venture Intrinsic, and served as a board director for AI logistics company Quincus. Committed to civic leadership, he is a trustee for The Carey School, serves on the advisory board for the Derby Entrepreneurship Center at Tufts University, and previously supported the Asian American Fund. David earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and economics from Tufts University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He lives in Burlingame, California, with his wife and two children. David is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
