Faiz Mayalakkara is a private equity investor with over two decades of experience investing more than US$20 billion across private equity and real estate on behalf of the sovereign wealth funds of the United Arab Emirates. He currently serves as Head of General Sectors Investments at Emirates Investment Authority, the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund. Prior to joining Emirates Investment Authority, Faiz was part of the investment arm of the Government of Dubai, where he led and executed investments across diverse sectors and geographies. Faiz serves on the boards of several portfolio companies on behalf of Emirates Investment Authority, including Aster Hospitals GCC, one of the region’s leading healthcare platforms headquartered in Dubai. He was recognized by Trusted Insight as one of the Top 30 Sovereign Wealth Fund Investors globally for two consecutive years (2017–2018). Faiz is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Program, AMP 195, 2018). He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Madras. Faiz is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
