Govind Shivkumar is a director at Omidyar Network, where he leads for-profit investments in late-stage AI and emerging technology companies and funds. He also stewards portfolios and grants spanning generative AI, open-source infrastructure, and frontier domains such as brain-machine interfaces. Recent investments include Anthropic, Groq, Sakana AI, EleutherAI, Flux Capital, Stanford HAI, Skydeck Berkeley Fund, Collab Capital, and Humane Intelligence. A specialist in structuring blended capital vehicles, Govind has been instrumental in establishing several risk and philanthropic funds, including CoDevelop, the FOSS Sustainability Fund, the Digital Infrastructure Fund, and the Data Empowerment Fund. 

Prior to Omidyar Network, Govind spent a decade at LGT Group investing in technology, healthcare, and financial services companies and funds, with earlier roles in investment banking at Unitus and Citigroup. Across these positions, he executed transactions throughout North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe. Govind is a non-resident fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, an alumnus of UC Berkeley and the University of Mumbai, and a qualified chartered accountant. Govind is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Technology Leaders Initiative of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
