Jacqueline (Jackie) Buedel’s sudden passing in July 2017 was a shock to the Weinberg Sector Skills Academy family. Jackie was one of the most thoughtful and dedicated servant leaders and is deeply missed.
Jackie had a business background that influenced her work at the Caroline Center. Prior to joining the Caroline Center, she joined Steel & Wire Products Co. Inc., a firm founded by her grandfather in 1929. She worked with her father and a brother and was later named vice president and became the firm’s president and chief financial officer in 1988. She held the post until 2002. She then spent her time as a volunteer tutor at the Caroline Center and taught math to the women enrolled in its pharmacy technician program. In 2013 she became director of academic and career advancement for the Caroline Center, whose mission is to teach job skills to women. “Jackie was loved and respected by all at the Caroline Center community,” said Sister Patricia McLaughlin, the center’s executive director. “Her passion for assuring the success of our graduates was firmly rooted in our mission of empowering women to reach the fullness of their potential.”
Jacqueline Buedel was a graduate of the 2016 Weinberg Sector Skills Academy, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
