Janice K. Jackson

Dr. Janice K. Jackson is a nationally recognized education leader and the newly appointed Executive Director of the Education & Society Program at the Aspen Institute’s Center for Rising Generations. In this role, she leads national efforts to reimagine the student experience, elevate community voices, and drive bold, equity-centered education policy. Dr. Jackson previously served as CEO of Chicago Public Schools, where she oversaw record-high graduation and college enrollment rates and earned national acclaim for her transformative leadership. Most recently, she was CEO of Hope Chicago, a nonprofit supporting students and families through scholarships and wraparound services. With a career dedicated to advancing opportunity and excellence in public education, Dr. Jackson brings visionary leadership and deep systems-level experience to her work at the Aspen Institute.
