Keith Yamashita has dedicated his life to creating a world that is more creative, beautiful, just, and inclusive. As a co-founder of The Institute for Moral Imagination (TIMI), he works at the intersection of systems design and human potential—in this species-defining era. TIMI’s mission is to ignite humankind’s collective creativity—empowering artists, change-makers, and citizens to imagine and build a future where all can thrive. The Institute provides nourishment, experiences, and muscle-building for moral imagination.
Keith’s career has focused on transformative leadership. He founded and led SYPartners for nearly 30 years, established the kyu collective, and launched This Human Moment—an online community to build a new humanism during the pandemic. He is a trustee of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and serves on The Council at The Long Now Foundation.
He is a graduate of Stanford University with an M.A. in Organizational Behavior and a B.A. in Quantitative Economics. Keith is a Fellow of the inaugural cohort of the Michael D. Eisner Arts & Culture Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
